LV Yantang— Master of Arts and Crafts in Shanxi

LV Yantang is the president of Colored Glaze Grey Pottery Co., Ltd. In Hejin city. He is also a member of China Arts and Crafts Association, and the executive director of Shanxi Arts and Crafts Association. He is a master of Shanxi Arts and Crafts, and a representative inheritor of firing techniques for provincial intangible cultural heritage projects, and the vice president of the Urban Cultural Industry Association.

LV Yantang, son of LV Hongjian, a descendant of LV family colored glaze business. He learned sculpture techniques from his father since he was a child. After graduating from middle school, he continued to study glaze mixing and firing techniques. After ten years of training, he fully mastered the craftsmanship and became the ninth-generation heir of the LV family business of colored glaze gray pottery. In 1983, he founded the LV Colored Glaze Factory in his hometown Dongyaotou Village in Hejin City. In 22 years, it had developed into Hejin City Guyun LV Colored Glaze Gray Pottery Co., Ltd. in 2015. In June 2010, LV Yantang went to the Academy of Fine Arts of Tsinghua University for further studies, and in March 2012 he went to Suzhou Vocational and Technical College of Arts and Crafts. He devoted himself to researching, learning from others, and on the basis of inheriting a century of skills, he improved the production process, and expanded the scale of production.

More than 700 years of craftsmanship have laid a solid foundation for the high-quality products of LV’s colored glaze gray pottery. His works have won many honorary titles such as "Shanxi Cultural Industry Expo Gold Award", "Yuncheng Industrial Products Fair Gold Award", and "National Leisure Agriculture Creative Boutique Excellent Award". The company has been rated as "Shanxi Province Cultural Industry Demonstration Base", "Yuncheng Cultural Industry Brand Enterprise", and "City Intangible Cultural Heritage Productive Protection Base". In the future, LV Yantang will lead all the staff to inherit traditional skills in the spirit of craftsmanship, and write a wonderful chapter for tomorrow!
